A Division of B&L Ott HVAC Serving Chester & Montgomery Counties
Meade Heating & Air Conditioning began in the 1970s as Meade Electric Company in Downingtown, PA. Owner Craig Meade specialized in electrical construction and major appliance repair.
In 1982, Paul Traviline purchased the business after several years of working at Meade. Paul moved the company from the borough of Downingtown to the village of Eagle, where, over time, the service shifted from appliance repair to central HVAC and indoor air quality.
In 2019, after 37 years of ownership, Paul decided to retire. He sold the business to Ryan Ott, officially making Meade Heating & Air Conditioning a division of B&L Ott Heating & Air Conditioning. Paul and Ryan made this decision jointly after many years of being colleagues, cultivating mutual respect, and referring customers to each other. They realized they had structured their companies similarly, prioritizing customer service, hiring the most experienced professionals, and providing the highest-quality workmanship.
Together, the pair developed a transition plan to make sure Paul’s employees would become part of the B&L Ott team, his customers would consistently experience excellent service, and the company he built for nearly four decades would continue with the same values. The partnership enabled both companies to grow their coverage area and respond to customers faster. Today, the merged businesses operate as one team serving Berks, Chester, and Montgomery counties, and more. We continue to grow and constantly seek talented people to join our team.
